Yet another 2007 summer thunderstorm approaching.

Clouds - Late Evening

Waves from Church Street, Broughty Ferry. (For scale, B/F lifeboat pier is on extreme upper  left)

If you like clouds you might find Gavin’s website interesting- http://www.cloudappreciationsociety.org/

It started as a small quirky website, became a web phenomemon and is now a large quirky website with extra clouds.

A contrail projects its shadow from a low sun onto the higher cloud layer. Viewed from City Quay, Dundee. Reproduced in  “The Cloudspotters Guide” by Gavin Pretor- Pinney (Published by Sceptre)

A nice day on the river.  - The old Fyvie jetty at David Anderson Marine Boatyard, Newport, Fife.

Immortalised for better or worse as “The Silvery Tay” the River Tay has an unusual ability to reflect the constantly changing light and weather patterns of the area. The MVS has given Tay members and public alike the opportunity to see this river as it should be seen - from the water.

Proving that swans too can be healthy eaters. 4 swans at Broughty Ferry gobbling down silkweed - a change from their usual diet of buns and poor folks kneecaps.

Larick Beacon, Pile Lighthouse, Tayport Fife

The Larick Beacon at Tayport is a classic design of “Pile Lighthouse” also seen on the Atlantic coast of America. The barracks that Stephenson built for the workers on the Bell Rock lighthouse was a very similar design, minus the light. Seen from Badger on a passenger trip.

Supertanker “Fucsia” passes the Larick Beacon at Tayport with Badger keeping station.

The River Tay near Perth. Badger and David Winch (the rower) wait while a coaster passes them in the deep water channel en route to Perth.

David (who had just had a heart bypass operation ! ) rowed from Perth to Dundee to raise funds for the Broughty Ferry Lifeboat.
