While dragging Marigot out of the water on a specially modified trailer at David Anderson Marine and transforming her hull, props and other fittings is a fairly spectacular part of her refit it must be stressed that much refitting work has already been done on her while afloat in Victoria Dock and alongside at Davy's. A full account of all the work done on her since November will be shown on this website soon.

It might look like an action shot but these poor guys stood like this for about half an hour. The boat has to be kept an exact distance from the steel upright of the cradle. Bob Richmond's got an essential role here. Keep it there Bob. Don't move.

Jim's crosslegged by now but it won't be long, Jim, we're nearly there.

Like some weird surrealistic, science-fiction based craft, Marigot leaves the water on Davy's wheeled cradle to the amazement of everyone present. All she needs now is some hydrogen balloons to give her lift plus a few swans for forward propulsion, and we could fly her to Leuchars.
She's not in bad condition under the waterline at all.
Marigot's still got some distance to travel up the slip before she's clear of the tides

Sorry. The steering committee. Jim supervises.

Barnacles is a nice word and that's what's on her bottom.

Days and days of sanding priming and painting. Craig did masses of work through the week. On Sunday, Susan and .... someone.... (Yes, there's a big prize for guessing who) in a red suit work on.

Bob doesn't often get on a podium bless him but when he does he can give that loony North Korean guy a run for his money. "Onward and ..er....Put it Over There" Tell 'em Bob

She's starting to look good now. David Morrison's starting to look a bit better too.

David K treats the metalwork on Marigot's hinged step with thin Jenolite and then primes it. Then bends over.
The top coat has to be applied quickly, rolled on and then laid off immediately after with a brush in the minute or two before the paint gets tacky.
Looking good now. She's nearly ready to be finished along the waterline.

Derek took the props to Buckie and got them brazed, filled and profiled.

Bob's still got his party hat on from the previous night, the puir thing.

Jim paused for breath so we jumped at this unexpected opportunity

....It didn't last long though, unfortunately.....

The swan didn't care that Susan once had a pet goose
So it bit her....
Susan said - "fec**** swan" (we think) and then ouch.

I don't care how big you are. Ha, you don't scare ME

Launching is never uneventful,.

Afloat, a boat.
There's still a few other things to get finished on Marigot but it shouldn't take too long now.
This was one thing. David Paterson gets the new tiles down in Marigot's bathroom.
